From the premeet, it was clear that to get through Emily and Stewart's day unscathed, Id have to hit all of their markers for the photography etc, make sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes and make sure that Emily's mum got all the credit as she was the one with The Clipboard!
Luckily Emily's mum was bloody lovely and got swiftly to grip with the champagne and the catering staff / drivers / vicar so all I had to do was keep up with the whirlwind that was Emily and her entourage. Emily's fantastic smile was matched by her groom Stewart and the pair of them swept through the day under blazing sun from the ceremony at Newton on Ouse to the reception at The Merchant Adventurers Hall, York.
After speeches and one hell of a spread of food, guests were welcomed downstairs to the undercroft, which in over 350 weddings, many at The Merchant (including mine), I have never seen look so stunning. Thousands of pounds of props were installed by the bride's brother as a gift and the ultimate party band HUGE blew the lid off it.
A fantastic day and I was delighted to be the last man out (Emily's mum told me I had to carry flower arrangements to the car!).
