Sophie and Ben's awesome Bell Hall Wedding

Sophie and Ben Hudson got married at the utterly lush Bell Hall. Oozing with Boho loveliness from start to finish, from the garden ceremony (cherished dogs with flower garlands in attendance), to the tepee reception and packed dance floor moves. Lots of guests camped in bell tents onsite so party carnage was deliciously inevitable but the atmosphere was fantastic, even the 2 sober guests had a ball.

The groomsmen were dapper, handsome and genuinely useful, the bridesmaids were beguiling, beautiful and so individually perfect I couldn't help but fall in love with a couple of them (they never call :o(

Mum of the bride described the first shot out on facebook (18th in the series below - the boobs one) thus..

"so sums up the day - fun from beginning to end. You Jim were totally amazing !! You and the band totally ran the day and took all the stress away and made the day what it was. By the way this is the best wedding photo ever seen !! The mother of the bride congratulates you. Bonkers bride, bonkers bridesmaids and a photographer with an amazing sense of fun"

My instructions from Sophie and Ben were "a few family shots and enjoy yourself and dance"and I love them for that. Mission Accomplished :o)

Make up by herself (she's an amazing make up artist!)

Wedding of Sharon & Richard - Ripley Castle

There is a lot of awesome here, and I'm not just saying that because I have a massive ego. It was a blooming tremendous day from start to finish. Weather was a bit grim but that effected nothing at all (apart from my hair) and after a very lovely ceremony at St Edwards, Clifford, we were off to the sumptuous Ripley Castle for eating of fabulous roast Lamb, sipping of divine wines and partying hard to the tunes of a fabulous band who didn't have any business cards with them.

The very lovely wedding car was supplied by www.superiormotorcars.co.uk and driven by the delectable Nikki, flowers (superb!) were by The Flower Room at Ripley Castle, Perfectly formed dress by Art Couture from Plush in Angram, bridesmaids dresses from Romantrica, also supplied by Plush........and cake (looked fantastic but I don't eat cake so have to trust the guests that it was perfect) by Kirsty of A Piece of Cake.

Photography by me and my lovely colleague Katie and video work by Special Day Films.

The Coopers, Hell Yes

Katie and Joe booked me over 'tinternet and promised "a quiet low key gothic swinging rockabilly spectacular" and they didn't disappoint. After a very pleasant morning in the company of scantily clad lovelies and their tattoos, nail varnish and hairspray, we met the boys at The Treasurers House and got on the wedding schizzle.

Katie looked freaking AMAZING in her dress but Joe was easily the best dressed groom of the year, I'm sooo jealous of that suit. From there on it was a roller coaster of fizz, gorgeous vintage vehicles (incl a double decker for guests and A Ford Mustang GT 350 from Superior Motor Cars - OMG want one, driven by the lovely Nikki), great food, brilliant speeches and the dancing. Phew.

Loved every minute of it and miss them already.

A wedding dressmakers Wedding! Awesome lives here.

Rebecca and Chris were married by Rev Catherine at a lovely church in Haxby, York then traveled by vintage bus to The De Grey Rooms in central york for the party. A sun drenched courtyard of The Theatre Royal was used for the drinks reception with music from the incomparable Karl Mullen on his famous Red Busking Piano.
Rebecca is half of the ridiculously stylish Smith & Downes who design and make beautiful and elegant pieces for ladies with impecible taste, they also offer a couture, made to measure bespoke bridal service. I can vouch for their services as in the past they have made a dress for Mrs P based entirely on a tattoo of mine, with frankly stunning results.
Event planning at the venue was from Lindsay Whitwell, who I love and not just because she's barely 5ft tall and has a smile that can stop traffic.
Hair for the ladies was by the very talented Louise of Yorkshire Bridal Hair and lush flowers were from Fleuradamo
I knew I'd love this wedding so I traveled there on my bike, you know, so I could properly join in. Being a wedding photographer in York (a small city) does have its advantages :o)
For the bride and groom's perspective, see my testimonial page where they left me a message :o)

ps the close up of the bridesmaids bust is only partly gratuitous as they each had a unique button made for their outfits. Rebecca asked me to document them, honestly she did.

Hannah and Alasdair - Our first wedding of 2015

On 3rd Jan we started the year on a high at Hannah and Alasdair's wedding at The Hospitium, York. The girls got ready at The Cedar Court Grand with absolutely gorgeous Hair and Make up by Catherine Elizabeth.

Then off to The Hospitium for a ceremony, meal by Bradshaws, cracking speeches, and getting the party started.
Oh and cigars, bloody big ones. A packed dancefloor powered by Nightowls Disco ran late into the night and I slipped away sometime after 10 with my ears ringing and a big smile on my face. Hannah and Alasdair and their family and friends were all bloody lovely and I miss then already.
Enjoy the slideshow :o)
