The last few months have been like soooo much fun. We are now through 16 of this years weddings and each one has been amazing and has escaped the downpours and gales. Id like to point out that this is entirely because I was good in a previous life and if you'd like to buy me a drink at the bar , thats all fine.
As well as all of our weddings we have completed large commercial shoots for some very lovely clients , old and new in Yorkshire and are in discussion with a national bar and restraunt chain re using our images permenently on their walls - how cool is that ! (no it not KFC).
A couple of days ago I had an email from very nice young fella from Manchester (Hi Sam) which I havent got round to replying to yet - EEK -but he mentioned that he found me via a link to one of my YouTube videos on the site of the very wonderful Chase Jarvis. Chase is a world leader in action sports advertising photography and a leading light in the online learning & telling everyone how you did stuff arena, and to have him recommend one of my random videos is a big wow. The vid in question was of a 20 min rush backroom shoot of a baby called Rafferty ("shooting rafferty") to show what can be done by using speedlights and very little other gear for cool baby portraits.
Now, Rafferty has a sister called Elf, ad Elf is now 7 months old and ready for her first sit up unaided photoshoot, so fingers crossed we will have another vid coming soon (anyone tried using Apples new Final Cut Pro X yet), well - as soon as I learn how to edit DSLR footage.
Lastly, this week I got a thank you card off a very special couple whos wedding we attended a month or so ago. Both bride and groom held the rank of Captain in the Army but our bride was promoted just before the wedding, and asked if she could forestall the promotion so that her husband to be didn't have to salute her as she walked up the Isle - HOW ROMANTIC IS THAT!! Needless to say the wedding and reception at Yorks Merchant Taylor's Hall was fabulous and the Armed Forces contingent didn't disappoint, demonstrating complex drinking games and extremely energetic dancing untill the small hours.
Pic of thank you card attached, and I was delighted that they used my fave pic from the day - when Rebecca's veil was lifted by the breeze in a full clockwise circle until it landed on Davids head. Mint.
If you'd like to see what they said - head over to the Testamonials bit of the site.
Now Im off to buy wellies, as I may be standing in a river this time on friday :o)
